Team Pixelation is composed of four team members: Nel, Lukas, Abe, and Adam. We are a homeschool team from Chisago County, Minnesota. This is the first year all of the kids on this team have competed together, although the all have multiple years of experience in FIRST LEGO League. This year, our team won the Minnesota State Championship, allowing us to compete at the World Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, on April 17th-19th.

Day 2 in Atlanta - 4/17/08 "Judgement Day" by team Pixelation
We woke up this morning, it was judgement day,
and we walked across the street to the local cafe.
We got off our seats and started to roam,
right down the street to the Georgia Dome.
At ten we had our practice run,
Lukas and Abe ran it, it was kind of fun!
Then Adam and Nel ran the second one,
lets just say they were glad when they were done.
Practice runs through, we had judging to do,
three stations successively, starting at two.
First project, then technical, then teamwork at last;
all went very well, but we are glad they are past.
Two hours later, we went to Centennial Park,
to eat free ice cream, before it got dark.
We watched different teams from all over the globe,
perform varied dances, some in funny robes.
All performances done, someone held up a sheet,
this remarkable paper, said something neat.
The paper showed us something we feared we would lack,
it was, in fact, a teamwork callback.
After the ice cream (some appetites shot),
we ate mexican food, some of it hot!
Looking back, the day was OK!
And we're looking forward to another day!
Day 1 in Atlanta - 4/16/08
To get to the Georgia World Congress Center, we pushed our heavy but durable wooden cart down the streets of Atlanta. This route was made slightly longer by constructrion on buildings damaged by the tornado last month. Once at the World Congress Center, we met many teams from the US and around the world. At all the pit areas, FIRST left everyone very cool rubber wrist bands with 512mb flash drives embedded in them. Many people came up to our pit eagerly to exchange pencils, buttons, stickers, pins, candy, and bookmarks, for our High Tech Kids frisbees.
Pixelation Gives Lego Demonstration to Students
After weeks spent scheduling this FLL demo into our lives, we finally gave a demo on March 8th, at the Chisago County Library. During this demonstration, we ran our robot multiple times and explained the rules in FLL for a group of excited kids and interested adults. We also did our research presentation for the spectators, allowing them to get a good grasp of what FIRST LEGO League is about. We are hoping that through our efforts, as well as others, that at least one if not two new FLL teams will come out of Chisago County. Also, the publisher of the Chisago County Press was present at our demo, and wrote an editorial which appeared in the paper the following week.
